The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards took place on Thursday, and through an impressive display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the top winner. This surprise role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive earned the coveted Top Game award, along with honors for Best Storytelling and Top Visual Design.
Enhancing the developer's success, the talented cast also garnered individual awards. Jennifer English was named Best Lead Performer for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Actor for his acting as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Studio of the Year. Overall, Clair Obscur and its creative team collected seven awards during the show.
Other major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Best Audio Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Top Self-Published Indie and Premier PC Title. It is important to note, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the audience, with only four awards—Critics' Pick, Rising Star, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers’ Choice—determined by reviewers.
