A Palestinian-American teenager who spent nine months in Israeli detention without charge has been freed.
Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 when he was arrested in February within the occupied West Bank, during a family visit while residing in Florida for allegedly throwing stones against settlement residents, allegations he repeatedly contested.
The US state department applauded Mohammed's liberation.
Currently aged sixteen, needed medical care right after being freed, relatives told the media.
Family described him as visibly pale and thin, while battling health issues developed during imprisonment.
Via family representatives, family spokesperson conveyed their "overwhelming sense of relief".
Family member Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" over the last nine months.
"Currently, our priority is getting Mohammed the immediate medical attention he requires after being subjected to harsh conditions and cruel circumstances throughout his detention."
American authorities announced ongoing to offer diplomatic assistance to the teenager's relatives.
{"American leadership has no higher priority to the protection and welfare of American nationals"," officials stated.
A group of American legislators endorsed a document to US authorities and the White House, demanding more be done to secure his release.
The father, with four children operating an ice cream shop in Florida, had earlier stated his son only confessed to throwing stones after being assaulted by soldiers.
